BRIEF
HISTORIC
One
of the most prosperous Brazilian Capital Cities, organized
and with best quality of life, Curitiba was funded on March
29th, 1693.
It
appeared with a group of prospectors in the 17th century
when the economy was based on extrativism of wood and Paraguay
tea.
In
the 19th century, the agriculture activity increased with
the arrival of German, Italian, Polish and Ucrain imigrants.

There
were also many Austrian, Swiss, Dutch,
French and Russian imigrants.Most of the 77 neighborhoods
in the city were born from colonies formed by Europeans.
At
the beginning of 20th century the oriental imigrants arrived.
They were mainly Japonese, Syrian and Libanese.
Our
Indians, Portuguese, Spanish, imigrants, former slaves and
Brazilians who came from other states turn Curitiba into
a big Melting Pot.
Nowadays,
Curitiba has approximately 1 million and 600 thousand inhabitants.
Curitiba
is the capital city of Paraná State and id located
on the first Plateau of Paraná. It is crossed by
several Federal Roads such as: BR-116, BR-376/101, BR-277,
BR-476 and BR-153.
Its
PIB is U$ 12,1 billion / year. The income is approximately
U$ 8 thousand / year per capita. The rate of illiteracy
is near zero, representing less than 1% of population.
The
climate is pluvial moderated-hot. The average temperature
in summer is 21ºC, and in winter 13ºC. The average
altitude is 908m.
